Jessica Wassom
Mental Health Clinician, LPC
Jessica received her bachelor’s degree in marriage and family studies from Brigham Young University Idaho, and her master’s degree in clinical counseling from Northwest Nazarene University with an emphasis in grief, trauma, and crisis. Jessica is originally from Washington State, but moved to Idaho for her higher education pursuits.
Jessica has worked with individuals in varying stages of life who have struggled with anxiety, depression, PTSD, low self-esteem, relational discord, and other life transitions. She also has a passion for working with those who have had the complicated experience of grief, especially from pregnancy loss. She believes that while life is inevitably difficult, the hard road wasn’t meant to be walked alone.
Jessica works hard to create a safe space for each client, walking with them as they are working through trauma, grief, and various difficult life transitions. She loves to assist clients as they discover what matters most to them and help them move toward a value driven life. She believes that each person has the strength within them to make meaningful change. She integrates Acceptance and Commitment therapy with Internal Family Systems (IFS), and other self-compassion based practices. She enjoys using creative interventions that utilize both the arts and sand tray, which she holds a certification in.
In her free time, you can find Jessica reading a good book, creating art, playing board games with her spouse, or jamming out to music.
