KRISTIN HEUER
lMSW, mental health therapist
Kristin received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Point Loma Nazarene University and her master’s degree in Social Work from Arizona State University. Kristin recently moved to Idaho and loves exploring her new home.
Kristin has over ten years of experience in the social work field. She has worked with adults and adolescents living with developmental disabilities, adults dually diagnosed with intellectual/developmental disabilities and mental health disorders, children/adolescents in the foster care system, and families experiencing homelessness. While working with these populations, she developed skills in crisis intervention and trauma-informed care. Kristin focused on client’s strengths and empowering them to reach their goals. She prioritized building rapport and creating a space that is safe and judgement-free.
In her free time, you can find Kristin exploring new hiking trails, reading a good book, and spending time with family and friends. Her newfound self-care activity is embroidery, making any towel or t-shirt she finds fair game for a little embellishment. She grew up in Wisconsin and is a true Cheesehead, so during football season she is often covered head to toe in Packers gear.
