Kate grew up in rural eastern Oregon and graduated from Eastern Oregon University with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. After completing her undergraduate studies, she relocated to the Treasure Valley and earned her Master's degree in Social Work from Boise State University. Kate's experience in both intensive outpatient and inpatient settings has allowed her to provide individual and group therapy and case management services. Kate believes in tailoring her therapeutic approach to best fit each client. She incorporates elements of various modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, Trauma-Focused Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. She believes that successful therapeutic outcomes are achieved by building strong rapport and creating a safe, affirming space for clients. Kate's first experience in the mental health field involved serving adults with serious and persistent mental illnesses. Throughout her higher education and internships, she discovered her passion for working with children and teens. She has helped individuals facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, personality disorders, trauma, relationship issues, and anger management issues.
Kate believes in a humanistic approach to therapy and keeps each client's individuality at the center of her practice. Outside of her work as a therapist, Kate's passions include creating art and engaging in various outdoor activities. Hiking, paddleboarding, camping, and discovering the best hot springs Idaho has to offer top her list of favorite things. Kate is enthusiastic about integrating elements of these passions into a holistic therapeutic approach to help her clients improve their emotional and mental wellbeing.
