

MARIA AYALA
COMMUNITY-BASED REHABILITATION SERVICE WORKER
Maria graduated from BSU with a BA in Multidisciplinary Studies with Psychology and Visual A rt minors. She has experience working as a therapy tech in group home settings and volunteering as a GED tutor for drug court. While she is new to the role of being a CBRS provider, the values, and goals of this service line up with how Maria has been cultivating her life through her art practice.
She is a strong believer and advocate for art a s a mode for healing. She has participated in and led community - based art projects. Like Freak Alley in Boise and mentored high school seniors in completing a community mural in her hometown . She has facilitated numerous body paint photo shoots to promote empowerment in her subjects through radical embodiment and positive body image. Her art practice has armed Maria with community building skills, coping skills and problem - solving skills.
She loves spending her free time going on outdoor adventures with her husband and two huskies. She also dedicates time to her upcycled clothing project, her hula hoop practice and completing art commissions.
